TOKYO – Jan 27, 2022 – NTT DATA, a global digital business and IT services leader, today released “NTT DATA Technology Foresight 2022,” a compilation of the latest trends in technology.

“NTT DATA Technology Foresight 2022” is composed of two sections: The “Introduction” section and the “Emerging Tech” section. The “Introduction” section provides a general view of the future while reviewing the ways IT has changed the world. The “Emerging Tech” section takes a deep dive into the changes happening in each area of technology and makes specific predictions about what to expect.

NTT DATA is deepening future-oriented communication while sharing information on trends with its customers. It is also contributing to new business creation by customers and to the transformation of society by developing the technologies and services that are needed to make that future a reality.

NTT DATA has issued “NTT DATA Technology Foresight” every year since 2012 as a compass pointing the way to the future based on analysis of research into the latest trends in technology. The following are representative case examples from the past:

The Green Software Foundation (GSF) has developed "Software Carbon Intensity (SCI)" , a method for scoring the carbon footprint of software. NTT DATA, as a GSF Steering Member, worked with other member companies to develop an alpha version of the method (SCI).

NTT DATA Corporation and the research team of Hiroshima University, Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering led by Professor Koji Nakano have developed a new computational method, Adaptive Bulk Search, for high-speed search to retrieve solutions to the combinatorial optimization problems.

From this point forward, “NTT DATA Technology Foresight” will continue contributing to the creation of new business and the transformation of society.

NTT DATA Appoints Christopher Merdon as Group President of Public Sector Business

MCLEAN, Va. – April 11, 2022 – NTT DATA today announced Christopher J. Merdon has been promoted to Group President, Public Sector for NTT DATA Services, based on his nearly 28 years’ experience providing innovative technology services to government and education entities. Merdon will replace Tim Conway, who is retiring July 31, 2022, after working at NTT DATA for the past 12 years. Conway has served the public sector for the past 30 years and has won numerous awards for his work improving government services and his commitment to technology innovation in the public sector. In Conway’s time as Group President, NTT DATA’s Public Sector business grew to over $1 billion in revenue.
