TOKYO, JAPAN and PLANO, TX – February 11, 2020 – NTT DATA, a recognized leader in global technology services, was named a Leader in the recently published report by Everest Group, “Healthcare Payer Digital Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment with Service Provider Landscape - 2020,” which analyzes the changing dynamics of the healthcare payer digital services landscape.

“Our research program is focused on the market need and analyzes outsourcing trends and service providers’ capabilities in healthcare payer digital services,” said Abhishek Singh, Vice President, Everest Group. “To support their clients on their digital journeys, NTT DATA takes a business-first approach rather than just offering technology solutions for their clients. They are also focused on building effective digital solutions that leverage next-generation technology trends.”

Health plans have a significant and immediate opportunity to implement collaborative intelligence operations, which combine the capabilities of humans and machines to accomplish even more than traditional robotic process automation (RPA). For example, speech and image recognition capabilities, combined with chatbots, can be used to engage with member or providers to improve end user experience. Also, back office operations can be streamlined by using AI to predict which claims will be rejected and require human intervention.

“These are all things that can be implemented now,” said Shashi Yadiki, President, Health Plans, NTT DATA Services. “This recognition by Everest Group is reflective of our investment in our digital strategy, which is focused on automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence. Ultimately, AI will enable insurers to create better value-based care contracts and more personalized plans designed around a single consumer, based on individual health needs and behaviors rather than on statistical sampling.”

As a Leader in the Everest Group report, NTT DATA was recognized for the company’s capabilities in the digital domain, with a primary focus on mobility, cloud, data and intelligence, social media, cybersecurity, automation, IoT, telehealth and virtual care, database platform as a service and advanced analytics.

Enterprises have made digital adoption the bedrock of their growth strategy in recent years to optimize processes, reduce costs and deliver better customer experience, all in the pursuit of higher revenue growth. The payer industry is no exception. Leaders identified in the PEAK Matrix have established themselves as front runners to support large healthcare payer customers that prefer service providers to help them achieve transformation through digital. The report features an objective, data-driven and comparative assessment of 23 healthcare payer digital service providers. These service providers are mapped on Everest Group’s PEAK Matrix, which is a composite index of a range of distinct metrics related to a provider’s vision, capability and market impact.

NTT DATA was recognized as a leader for the second consecutive year in large part to how they continue to demonstrate their ability to create innovative digital solutions for their clients such as Business Insights Engine, Business Intelligence & Analytics for Health Plans, Digital Health Consumer Platform and Nucleus Intelligent Enterprise Platform.
