TOKYO – February 2, 2022 – Everest Group has once again positioned NTT DATA as a Leader in its Intelligent Automation in Healthcare – Solutions PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2022 report. NTT DATA retained the Leader position achieved in 2019, demonstrating a continued commitment to technology excellence for healthcare clients.

“Automation has become a critical driver of overall efficiency in the healthcare space, for payers and operators alike,” said Kaz Nishihata, Senior Executive Vice President & Representative Director at NTT DATA Corporation. “At NTT DATA we are investing in the technology, training and solutions development to deliver the solutions our clients need to upgrade their capabilities and respond to the growing demand for value-based care. Being named a Leader in Everest Group’s Intelligent Automation in Healthcare PEAK Matrix Assessment report shows that healthcare clients value the level of service and expertise NTT DATA provides.”

Healthcare institutions have increased their use of automation solutions such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in recent years to improve performance across the value chain, which has accelerated during the global pandemic. As payers and providers streamline more processes, they are looking to healthcare business process service (BPS) providers to help optimize their automation initiatives.

“An automation-first approach in healthcare cuts costs and improves efficiency and quality, while also unlocking greater value for healthcare providers and consumers,” said Shashi Yadiki, President of Health Plan and Life Sciences at NTT DATA Services. “As the market continues shifting toward more value-based care models, our automation, cloud acceleration and AI solutions enable healthcare clients to adapt and thrive.”

NTT DATA achieved the highest marks possible for market adoption of its services and for its engagement and commercial model. The report also rated NTT DATA as having significantly higher-than-average capabilities in each subcategory, including portfolio mix, value delivered, vision and strategy, technology capabilities, innovation and investments, and service capability.

“The public health emergency triggered by COVID-19 expedited the demand for next-gen technologies, as healthcare firms realized the importance of digital enablers to ensure uninterrupted care delivery. While investments in multiple technologies sprang up, intelligent automation emerged as a top priority for healthcare organizations,” said Ankur Verma, Practice Director, Everest Group. “NTT DATA has been a transformational participant in this space through its strong presence across BPS, IT, as well as digital space, and seamless utilization of hybrid cloud for solutions deployment. Its flagship initiatives such as Universal bot portability Framework, unified data integration and automation platform called Nucleus for Healthcare, and a dedicated Healthcare AI R&D center have placed it as one of the Leaders on the Intelligent Automation in Healthcare – Solutions PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2022.”

As one of only six leaders, NTT DATA was praised for having a strong presence in BPS, IT and digital offerings across both the payer and provider sides of the market. Everest Group also highlighted the fact that NTT DATA is one of the few service providers that has successfully tried and implemented a transaction-based pricing model, as well as automation initiatives in telemedicine and remote care-delivery programs during the pandemic, establishment of a Healthcare AI R&D center in Tokyo and launch of Nucleus of Healthcare platform for data integration, automation and AI.

The Intelligent Automation in Healthcare – Solutions PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2022 is based on Everest Group’s annual RFI process for the calendar year 2021, which includes interactions with leading digital service providers, client reference checks, and an in-depth analysis of the healthcare automation market.

NTT DATA was also upgraded to a Leader in Everest Group’s Healthcare Analytics Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment Report 2022. For more information about NTT DATA’s offerings, visit our Data Analytics & AI and Healthcare & Life Sciences web pages.
