In 2011, the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services Office of Inspector General (HFS OIG) developed the Dynamic Network Analysis (DNA) system to combat fraud, waste and abuse, achieving significant successes such as uncovering $23 million in non-emergency transportation fraud and avoiding $133 million in costs in 2024.
This session will explore the internal development process, the critical role of Northern Illinois University and the key metrics that have driven the system's effectiveness.
