Honda Trading Asia needed trusted experts to migrate to AWS cloud
Honda Trading Asia needed to transition from its existing infrastructure to the AWS cloud as part of Honda’s global strategy. With a strict two-month timeline, they needed expert support for seamless migration, robust planning and cost optimization. They aimed to synchronize management of their cloud infrastructure across countries, foster innovation through AI processing and improved stock management, ensure policy compliance across regions and enhance scalability to support ongoing operational efficiency. To fully leverage cloud capabilities, Honda Trading also needed training for their teams so they could build, deploy and manage AWS infrastructure effectively.

Transforming Honda Trading Asia’s infrastructure with proven cloud-migration frameworks
NTT DATA’s solution began with a comprehensive assessment of Honda Trading Asia’s existing infrastructure. This allowed us to determine the total cost of ownership and identify cost-optimization opportunities through right-sizing. Our team then implemented an AWS Landing Zone, a best-practice framework designed to establish a secure, scalable cloud environment. This approach ensured governance, security and scalability, all in line with Honda Trading’s growth strategy and future needs.
To connect their existing data center with the AWS cloud, we used AWS Direct Connect. This ensured secure, high-performance connectivity that adhered to Honda’s policies and SLAs. A phased migration strategy was developed, categorizing workloads for a smoother transition.
The migration aimed to strengthen Honda Trading’s infrastructure by addressing challenges in aligning existing systems with best practices for AWS cloud. The new environment mirrored the existing data center configuration on AWS, and was designed to be secure and scalable, with the flexibility for future expansion.
We also provided Honda Trading’s teams with training and ongoing support to manage and optimize the cloud infrastructure effectively. This approach modernized Honda Trading’s operations, improving efficiency while allowing them to leverage the full capabilities of the AWS cloud.
