NTT DATA at AWS re:Invent: Highlights and reflections moving into 2025

  • mars 06, 2025

Here are some of our highlights of the event:

NTT DATA earns AWS Security Incident Response Specialization

One of the most exciting announcements at re:Invent 2024 was the launch of the AWS Security Incident Response service, designed to help customers prepare for, respond to, and recover from security events like account takeovers, data breaches, and ransomware attacks. With automated environment monitoring and 24/7 access to AWS security experts, this service helps organizations quickly respond to and remediate dynamic security threats.

NTT DATA is honored to be one of the first AWS Partners to receive the AWS Security Incident Response Specialization. This accreditation recognizes our expertise in delivering seamless, proactive security solutions for customers, especially those in regulated spaces like government and healthcare. Our efforts to achieve this specialization underscore our commitment to empowering our clients with cutting-edge security capabilities.

Spotlight on financial operations and cost management

Financial operations (FinOps) was a key topic at re:Invent this year. Every CIO we spoke to wanted to discuss FinOps, particularly in relation to generative AI and addressing rising VMware costs.

NTT DATA helps businesses and organizations efficiently align their cloud utilization with operational needs so they can optimize costs and reduce carbon footprints. We’re excited about the potential of the newly announced Amazon Nova foundation models to help us support clients with the innovative potential of generative AI while reducing costs and latency.

Regarding VMware-related needs, NTT DATA has the industry expertise to guide clients through these challenges while staying compliant and cost-efficient, helping them prioritize which workloads to migrate and when for maximum impact.

Modernization remains a top priority

Many public sector leaders at re:Invent emphasized that modernization is a priority for them in 2025. Many agencies still operate on aging mainframe technology and other legacy infrastructure, which drives up costs and relies on a shrinking pool of specialized staff. Plus, mainframe code on legacy systems is frequently interdependent and difficult to parse — making migration and modernization projects complex and time-intensive without the right partner.

NTT DATA is piloting a solution using generative AI to map an organization’s legacy business logic to modern policy documentation. This solution understands, translates, and converts legacy code into migration-ready systems. So far, this approach is showing incredible promise, dramatically reducing manual effort and accelerating overall modernization timelines. With this and other solutions, NTT DATA is focused on helping public sector leaders find success and cost savings in the cloud to deliver greater value to the communities they serve.

Centering human experience with cutting-edge technology

Enhancing citizen engagement through technology emerged as another major theme at re:Invent. Public sector leaders want to make government and healthcare engagement more intuitive, efficient, and accessible. NTT DATA’s human-centered design expertise can help play a pivotal role in these initiatives. Whether building new applications or modernizing legacy systems, our team uses a proven methodology to make sure organizations deliver enhanced services for their communities.

New re:Invent announcements in edge computing will also let NTT DATA deliver cutting-edge services to our customers in environments where speed is critical. The new Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) Hybrid Nodes lets clients manage workloads on-premises and in the cloud using a single control plane. For customers with use cases where low-latency data analysis is critical—like weapon detection in school security solutions and wrong-way driving for public safety agencies—this service provides the robust analytic capabilities of the cloud at the edge.

Looking ahead to 2025

As we head into 2025, NTT DATA is grateful for our strong partnership with AWS, which continues to empower us to innovate and deliver meaningful solutions for our clients. By combining AWS's technology with our deep expertise in government, healthcare, and more, we’re committed to helping our clients make a meaningful difference in the communities they serve.
