NTT DATA Launches Health and Wellbeing Initiative

The pandemic revealed that health and wellbeing is much more than a personal concern; now is the time for innovation and accelerated transformation across the digital health ecosystem

PLANO, Texas – August 4, 2021 – NTT DATA today announced the launch of a Health and Wellbeing initiative in collaboration with other NTT Group companies. This NTT point of view calls to elevate the importance of Health and Wellbeing at every level, individually and collectively. By helping healthcare providers, insurers, life science and government organizations leverage cutting-edge technology with personalized data, we can improve precision care models.

Shaping the future of Health and Wellbeing requires transforming the digital health ecosystems that work together with every part of society. By placing the needs of the individual at the center of all digital touchpoints, NTT DATA will integrate processes and relationships between platforms to deliver data-driven, actionable insights to improve personal and community health.

In a recent report by HFS, Rohan Kulkarni, Vice President, Research said, “The ability to combine administrative data and clinical data with social determinants of health and psychographic information is an opportunity to craft a true 360-degree view of the healthcare consumer to fundamentally transform engagement. It appears NTT DATA may be headed towards bridging this treasure trove of data to help improve consumer and provider experience.”

As part of this initiative, NTT provides new insights through the launch of a whitepaper, Improving the Health of Me, which examines how individuals and organizations can embrace technology to improve health outcomes.

"At the heart of this is ensuring access to appropriate health services and systems for all," said Mary Edwards, President, Healthcare Provider, NTT DATA Services. "The recent increase in access through telehealth is a step in the right direction, but a continued focus on reaching vulnerable populations is essential. At NTT DATA, we are working to advance health equity solutions across the healthcare ecosystem."

Technology will play a pivotal role in mitigating or closing access to care gaps for underserved communities, which NTT DATA leaders will be discussing at the annual HIMSS conference next week, August 9 -13, in Las Vegas, NV. Topics and speaking engagements include:

"The global health crisis has highlighted the fragile nature of our world. As we adjust to life post-pandemic, it has become clear that new approaches to Health and Wellbeing should be considered," said Vito Mabrucco, head of Global Marketing at NTT. "A more human-centric approach is required to provide a way forward to improve the Health and Wellbeing of people, communities and society. NTT's initiative looks at redefining Health and Wellbeing by making it more human by design, rebuilding trust and trustworthiness, improving the health of individuals everywhere and creating a digital ecosystem to support this new approach."
