BOSTON - Peace First, a national nonprofit dedicated to teaching children the critical skills of peacemaking, today announced it signed a partnership agreement with NTT DATA, Inc., a leading IT services provider.  The three-year agreement with NTT DATA’s Americas region is a part of its company-wide CSR initiative, encompassing three key areas of investment in Peace First:  financial support; employee volunteerism, and strategic technical guidance.

For 20 years, Peace First (www.peacefirst.org) has taught elementary and middle school students across the country the fundamental skills of peacemaking and civic engagement. As Peace First prepares to scale its peacemaking work nationally, and eventually globally, NTT DATA will be a critical thought partner to champion and activate more young people and the adults in their lives.

According to Dean Williams, EVP of Human Capital for NTT DATA, Inc., “NTT DATA is very excited to partner with an organization such as Peace First. Their mission to create the next generation of peacemakers, aligns well to NTT DATA’s commitment to solving human, social, and environmental problems.  Many of our CSR initiatives are specifically designed to nurture the leaders of tomorrow, and Peace First clearly supports that goal.”

In describing the partnership with NTT DATA, Eric D. Dawson, Peace First’s President and Co-Founder stated, “This partnership is a shining example of corporate social responsibility at its best: a corporate partner leveraging its resources and assets to create greater good.  Through this partnership, NTT DATA and its employees will provide critical resources to help Peace First reach our ambitious goal of creating a world where peacemaking is taught and celebrated.  Through NTT DATA’s technical expertise and corporate investment, Peace First can continue to lead the field in peacemaking education and create a path forward in catalyzing a youth peacemaking movement.”

PEACE FIRST. Peace First, www.peacefirst.org, is a nonprofit (501(c)(3)) public benefit corporation that exists to teach students to become creative problem-solvers with the ability, and the inclination, to create social change. We work with schools to empower students with the skills, relationships, and opportunities to be engaged, positive forces in their communities and throughout their lives.
