About the author

Robert Lewis supports NTT DATA Services clients in all facets of business change, including business strategy development, process design and improvement, IT and business organizational effectiveness and agility, enterprise technical architecture management, metrics, portfolio governance, and organizational change management.

Since 1996, when he started his award-winning “Survival Guide” column in InfoWorld, Mr. Lewis has been in the forefront of the “next-gen IT” movement – a philosophy best summarized by the phrase “There’s no such thing as an IT project.”

His consulting has emphasized the need for business/IT integration rather than alignment, and a move away from IT having “internal customers” to building collaborative peer relationships focused on effectively achieving intentional business change.

Mr. Lewis is the author or lead author of more than 1,500 columns and  twelve books on these and related subjects, the most recent of which is The Cognitive Enterprise.
